Reg has been introduced onto the Albert Hall, London, by Mike Harding, as “one of this country’s finest singer songwriters”. He is a true modern troubadour, representing contemporary English Folk writing at it’s best. Reg captivates audiences with his beautiful tenor voice, and won the Best Male Vocalist 2013 award from the folk organisation Fatea, and his latest album England Green & England Grey won FolkWords best album 2014. Reg is an accomplished musician, accompanying himself masterfully on guitar.
Reg’s solo gigs bring extremely beautiful songs, selected from his 8 highly acclaimed solo albums, performed with humour and with depth. They include up to the minute social commentary, with songs such as his beautifully touching song about dementia “Counting My Footsteps To You” and a song about terrorism “Dragonfly”, as well as songs rich in history: “When Jesus Wept” is about a WW1 soldier suffering from shell shock who was shot for ‘desertion’, and “Lizzie Loved A Highwayman” tells the true, unromanticised but fascinating story of Dick Turpin. He also writes and sings some of the most beautiful love songs in the world.
“Intelligent and thought-provoking songs, beautifully made and skilfully delivered” The Times
“There’s something special about the way he writes and delivers a song” Townes Van Zandt
“Meuross is one of the most talented storytellers of our generation.” Penny black Music
