Reg & Geraint have recently been working together on Fire & Dust a Woody Guthrie song cycle written by Reg and co-produced by Pete Townshend. The pair will premiere some of the songs at Blues Down, incorporating tex mex, folk-blues and country influences. As well as performing some of these new songs (hot from the studio) they will also include some classics from Geraint’s extensive repertoire from swamp to swing.
Attempting to designate a musical category for Watkins is not without its challenges, but the perspicacious Nick Lowe once observed that he could be filed as “the missing link between Paulo Conte and Howlin’ Wolf”.
