Reg Meuross at Celtic Connections

January 25, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

£14

An intimate, in-the-round exchange of traditional and contemporary folk songs, this cross-generational gathering is hosted by award-winning veteran troubadour Reg Meuross – hailed by Martin Cathy as “a mighty songwriter and an equally fine singer” – whose 2019 album Raw completed a trilogy of stripped-down, strictly-solo recordings, self-accompanied on guitars, banjo, dulcimer, and harmonica. Singer and fiddler Lori Watson won huge acclaimed for her 2018 release Yarrow Acoustic Sessions, revisiting and reimagining traditional songs from her native Borders, while Ullapool native Kim Richards’ original songs – accompanied here by Mike Vass and Mairearad Green – draw inspiration from folklore, nature, travel and Scottish tradition.
