Somerset based singer-songwriter Reg Meuross represents contemporary folk writing at its best, with that rare gift of being able to touch people through his songs and performance, on a really human level. His words and music paint pictures that remain with the listener long after the song has been sung. This concert is part of Reg’s Two Albums Tour, encompassing two album releases: Faraway People and Songs About A Train.

Faraway People comments bravely on life as he sees it, bringing wide-ranging stories, from the ravages of austerity and the injustice of the plight of refugees to some of most beautifully disarming lyrics ever written: “Time and again, Reg proves himself one of the key songwriters of our age” David Kidman; Mick Tems Folk Wales ”…every song from the gentle, enchanting genius is worth its weight in gold.”

“Time and again, Reg proves himself one of the key songwriters of our age” David Kidman

Mick Tems Folk Wales ”…every song from the gentle, enchanting genius is worth its weight in gold.”

“There’s something special about the way he writes and delivers a song” Townes Van Zandt.

Songs About A Train is a recent sweep down the back of the sofa to retrieve songs that have been recorded but have escaped inclusion in his studio albums, not for lack of quality but more a question of space, or suitability to the collection. So here we have 11 more brilliant songs that were recorded by Reg between 2013 and 2017, collected and presented in a new album.

“This release confirms that Reg is, unequivocally, quite simply one of the finest singer-songwriters of our, or any other, times.” Folk Radio UK

“A lot of artists strive in vain to make an album of this quality, yet with these eleven previously rejected tracks Reg has once again produced something truly special.” Fatea Magazine

“Your musical book case will be empty without it.” Mike Davies, Folking.com
