A celebration of the life of St Martin at Kingsbury Episcopi

May 20 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

It’s Time for Music!

This event is free and you can hear not just one, but TWO world premieres of music commissioned to mark the 1700th year since the birth of St Martin of Tours.

Reg Meuross will be performing a freshly written ballad about the life of St Martin, and the Cantata Choir will perform Cantata St Martin, written by Ronald Corp. Not only this, but also dancing from Enigma Morris, poetry, a brass band, all happening between 6.30 and 7.30pm in the church of St Martin in Kingsbury Episcopi, Somerset. And if that’s not enough, there’s a picnic afterwards with free ice cream (and a hat competition)

A specially assembled local choir of adults joined by children’s voices from Kingsbury School are performing the world premiere of the Cantata St. Martin conducted by the composer Ronald Corp – often heard on Classic FM

Other special musical contributors include Reg Meuross, the international singer and songwriter with his new St. Martin ballad, Kingsbury Band and Enigma Morris will dance. Willow weaving and artwork displays.

This free of charge, family-friendly event at St. Martin’s church, Kingsbury Episcopi is followed by a picnic.

This evening for the whole community celebrates the finale of our Martin 1700th themed events. Martin, after whom the village church is named, was a Roman soldier, turned priest, turned peacemaker in what is now France.

Free ice creams, apple juice, and maybe more!

No tickets required. Bring your own picnic, drinks, and something to sit on in the churchyard (weather permitting). If wet, we’ll eat in the church rooms or church. Please bring friends, family, and neighbours for what promises to be a great evening for everyone.
