The building itself is in need of rebuilding to the order of £70,000 for the repair of a retaining wall beside the main road, and £100,000 for a much needed re roofing. This concert is the start of a serious fundraising campaign.
“Here in Warmington we are aiming to make more use of our beautiful building for community events, which is why we are so delighted to have engaged Reg and Jess to perform here in concert on 13th March. We look forward to an evening of outstanding entertainment and reflection”. Richard Jones. Churchwarden.
“I heard Reg Meuross perform at Cropredy Festival last year and immediately booked him for this very special evening of music and companionship in a beautiful and historic setting, the perfect setting for Reg and Jess’s beautiful songs. A wonderful opportunity to show off our lovely church with such acclaimed performers. An evening not to be missed.” Jennie Boyle, organiserWhen Fatea award winner Reg Meuross heard Jess Vincent perform at a festival 4 years ago, he was immediately struck by her distinctive voice and her songwriting, which reminded him of his own. Reg has since produced both Jess’s albums, and they have co-written songs as well as often backing each other live and on recordings. Reg has been described by Mike Harding as “One of the finest singer-songwriters this country has produced”. Rock’n’ReelR2 describes Jess’s style as “uniquely and obliquely original”.
It’s hard to stand out in music these days, but their voices, lyric writing and musicianship combine enchantingly and distinctively. This duo with guitar, dulcimer, shruti box and baritone ukulele will captivate you with their songs, music and storytelling.
