Reg Meuross with special guest Lily Meuross at Priston Village Hall

April 30, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 10:45 pm

Reg Meuross, patron of Priston Festival, brings a preview gig of his new solo album ‘December’ along with other songs new and old which have been described by Folking.com as the ‘hinges upon which the doors of perceptive English folk swing.’ Powerful and authentic songs of justice and protest, songs that give voice to quiet and forgotten heroes, alongside heart achingly beautiful songs of love & heartache. With his soulful tenor vocal, restored 1944 Martin guitar and captivating arrangements, Reg paints pictures with words and music which will stay with you long after the last song is sung.

A very English kind of Americana…sounds like a forgotten, American 60s classic with echoes of Dylan, Tom Paxton and Leonard Cohen.. backed only by a vintage guitar and harmonica.” Robin Denselow, The Guardian
“[December] ..made the corn more golden, the grass much greener, my partner’s soul far sweeter. Every note masking a human emotion of want or need. At times reminiscent of Cat Stevens and Paolo Nutini Honestly it could make a grown man cry, beautiful stuff.” Christian Frank, Lemoncircus Radio
.. another brilliant example of Reg’s craft, whereby carefully-chosen words, illustrating simple truths, are set into relief by his unerring gift for melody.” David Kidman
“…beautiful – as they say in Ireland – the fruit never falls far from the tree” Mike Harding
