The Panic Brothers with Phill Jupitus at The Convent

September 3, 2015 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

One of our series of reunion gigs at the beautiful Convent near Stroud, Glos

The Panic Brothers Present: Comedy, Songs & Poetry Cabaret with special guest Phill Jupitus as ‘Porky The Poet’…

The Panic Brothers are sharp witted standup comedian and songwriter Richard Morton and award winning singer songwriter Reg Meuross: two men, two mics, two guitars, two voices that blend so well it’s hard to tell which is which.

The pair have reunited, after a break of 25 years, and are teaming up with some of their most talented friends from the entertainment business for a series of cabaret style evenings of music and comedy at the Bloomsbury Theatre London and the Convent Club, Stroud.

Hailed for their “Spine-chilling harmonies” (The Guardian) and “..combination of sharp, witty songs, tight harmonies and powerful acoustic guitars” (Time Out), this show will feature special guest comedian Phill Jupitus who will star in the second half of the show, building to a fantastic musical finale.

Excellent snappy songs, booming acoustic guitars and perfect harmonies are the Panic’s trademarks” – Andy White (Music Week)

Did you know that Phill Jupitus – yes, the Phill Jupitus from Never Mind the Buzzcocks – is a performance poet? As ‘Porky The Poet’, Jupitus, one of the UK’s most successful stand-ups, reveals a completely different, far gentler side to himself.

Famous people generally have a very carefully constructed public persona, one which earns them their fame and popularity but has only a passing resemblance to their actual personality. As ‘Porky The Poet’ Phill Jupitus reveals a different and more vulnerable side to himself.

Ticket discounts for Convent Members.
