Reg Meuross returns to home town Yateley with his new album ‘December’. Reg is a true modern day troubadour – commenting on life as he sees it, with some of the most beautifully disarming songs and lyrics ever written. As FolkWords says, his songs are ‘the hinges upon which swing the doors of perceptive English folk’. In this tour Reg will be playing all 10 songs from the new album as well as unfolding stories and characters from his 10 previous albums tenderly and masterfully.
Reg says: “I’m very excited to be playing in Yateley, the town where I was raised until the age of 17, where I started school and played my very first gig at Yateley Folk Club. (I think Peter Bellamy was on the headline). I remember it was with two local friends who knew I could sing and write but not if I could play, so I said I could and in about a week I managed to bluff all the required 4 chords…..what do you mean there’s more than 4?…”
Adam Jenkins is promoting the gig: “In the last two years, I have driven almost 1200 miles to watch Reg Meuross perform. To say that every journey was worth making would be an understatement. Each gig has been a wonderful experience that has stayed with me for days, and left me singing his songs to myself for weeks afterwards.
The chance to arrange for Reg to perform closer to home was just too good to pass up. When I found that he had grown up just a few miles from where I live, it felt even more right, if that were possible. I feel very proud and privileged to be involved in Reg coming back to the town where he first performed live.”
